Who Should Attend?

  • This is the foundation course of the Take Control of Your Photos series.
  • Have you ever wondered why your photos don’t turn out the way you expected?
  • Are you still using the “P” mode or other fully automatic exposure modes of your camera?
  • Or you don’t quite understand what “exposure” is about?
  • Then this course is tailored for you regardless you’re a beginner or you’ve been taking photographs for a long time.

This course covers the basics of photographic theories, lighting, composition, basic equipment and techniques. Participants will be able to apply what they’ve learned at the field shooting session.

Trainer:

Aaron Leung

Despite having had a taste of photography when he was studying graphic design in Hong Kong back in the 1980s and acquired his first SLR by the end of the decade, Aaron only started to take this hobby seriously in 2001 after he was introduced to nature photography.

During the years when he was a committee member of the Nature Photographic Society (Singapore), he conducted classes on macro photography, colour management and basic Photoshop techniques.

He also ran photography workshops, led guided outings, etc. In 2003 he was awarded APSS by the Photographic Society of Singapore.

Although Aaron has never made photography his career, his works found their ways to different publications, including “To Singapore with Love” published in 2005. Some have also been exhibited in various locations, e.g. epSITE, Singapore Zoo, Botanic Gardens, etc.

After focusing on nature photography for more than 5 years, he has recently shifted his attention to travel photography during holidays.
